Our physician Medical Director is uniquely suited to oversee all clinical and training activities in our center.  Greg Laurence, MD, FAAFP, BC ABFP has had extensive training in both medical and surgical areas of medicine.

Although his interests the last eight years have been with innovative office surgery, he also enjoys performing major surgery at all private hospital systems in Memphis, TN.  He enjoys teaching staff and working with other Board Certified physicians to bring the latest in technology to his clients and patients.  He has been voted the areas "Best Doctor" in the Germantown News for the last four years in a row.

Dr. Laurence was raised near Houston, Texas.  He attended Baylor University and the University of Texas at Houston Medical School.  He originally trained in Family Medicine, where upon he became board certified followed by surgical training as part of a fellowship in surgical obstetrics.  His development as a cosmetic surgeon began early in his 9-year private practice career as he began offering innovative surgical procedures not widely available.

For example, Dr. Laurence found that Radiofrequency Surgery on the face provided superior results compared to the use of a scalpel for dermatological and reconstructive facial procedures.  Dr. Laurence developed a reputation for providing unique medical procedures that attracted a variety of professional athletes interested in minimal "downtime".  He went on to be the first provider of Ultrasound-Guided Sclerotherapy for severe varicose and spider veins.  Then he became one of the few physicians nationwide to provide PhotoDynamic Therapy for the non-disfiguring treatment of skin cancer and treatment of difficult acne.  He performed the first Memphis breast augmentation in the subfascial pocket, a placement that has distinct advantages over other placements.  He was the first area physician to offer a superior type of anesthesia called "tumescent".  This technique is the safest anesthesia known and speeds recovery time to 1/2 to 1/4th of the normal recovery for major cosmetic surgeries.  Dr. Laurence introduced the Wire Scalpel to Memphis and subsequently performed the first "Belly Button" (TransUmbilical Breast Augmentation- TUBA).  Dr. Laurence is also Board Eligible for the American Board of Laser Surgery.
